This newsletter, Dollars That Make Sense (DTMS), and our company, Tremont & Grand, are new names within the business community. However, giving back and this idea of social responsibility have been major cornerstones in my life since a small child.
Growing up, my parents chose the intersection of Tremont Ave. and Grand Concourse in the Bronx, New York, to acquire several commercial real estate properties and introduce several strategic small businesses to the community. These businesses covered everything from a medical clinic and adjoining pharmacy to a 24-hour laundromat in the Mount Hope area, and we were proud to serve a community of people that not only looked like us, but needed those services. So, the Tremont & Grand I’ve begun to introduce you all to pays homage to my community origins.
From serving as an altar boy in my church community to community volunteering as a student in my all-boys college preparatory school, the convergence of both business and community had occurred at a saturated degree. My career would ultimately bring me to becoming a VP of Digital Transformation at Plastic Bank, a company driven to gather plastic in underserved countries to help end poverty. Today my professional journey has led me to take the leap and find my own path.
Call me crazy, but I had arrived at a point in life where I believed it was possible to give back to my community and have a fiscally rewarding career; Tremont & Grand was born, sort of like the countless babies my dad help deliver at that clinic years ago.
What started as just a street intersection as a kid, has now grown into a catalyst for change and inspiration in the business community. Tremont & Grand is an information technology and business leadership consulting corporation with insights, data and analytics leading our service offerings. Our focus is simple: We leverage technology to help your business do more, with less; freeing up your staff to operate efficiently as possible, freeing up company dollars to hopefully encourage your investment back into the community in which you exist.
